KOR Bahrain Launches Adopt a School Program

At the event held on February 21, 2025, the Rizal Knights (KOR) of Bahrain officially launched their pilot program "Support Program for Schools," aimed at creating educational opportunities and demonstrating unity and solidarity in striving for education. This has become a significant achievement for both the organization and the Filipino community in Bahrain.

Speaking with palpable passion, project leader KOR Henry Berbano shared his enthusiasm: "When we learned the history of the Palaui Integrated School, we saw not just a school in need of help, but a community eager for opportunities." The Rizal Knights Bahrain took on this task with determination, pledging to provide solar panels, desktop computers, notebooks, printers, LED televisions, and learning materials for the life and creativity of Dr. Rizal.

The program aims to improve the educational environment for students of this school, who are facing unique challenges. G-n Berbano emphasized the program's potential to change lives, asserting that the assistance provided will empower students and uplift the entire community. After the Philippine ambassador in Manila, Brian J. Baguilod, attended the event and expressed his support for the initiative.

"We will continue to support education as the foundation of progress," recently stated Eduardo Ona Arnande, commander of the Bahraini KOR, who emphasized the organization's commitment to promoting education among the youth. In his address, the president of Baguilod reinforced the mission of the Rizal Knights and the importance of their obligation to improve educational prospects.

The ceremony lighting the logo of the Adopt A School project, officially marking the launch of the initiative, was conducted by G-n Baguilod with the support of Eduardo Arnande, Henry Berbano, and Paul Barrios. Arnande emphasized that KOR sees itself as modern-day Rizalans, tasked with continuing the legacy of Dr. Jose Rizal in contemporary society.

The Palaui Integrated School, located in San Vicente, Sta. Ana, is situated in a remote and underserved community, making KOR Bahrain's contribution crucial for the education of these young learners. During the presentation and performances last night, energetic dance and vocal performances for informal gatherings were showcased among the attendees.
